Ethan Howard, Oliver Kortons, Ivan Kortons, and Wither Kortons began their journey as footwear craftsmen and tailors in 1937. Though their early ventures shifted with the changing times, the founders discovered a deeper fascination — the fabric elements and attachment components that quietly shaped the perception of fine garments.

This focus evolved into an exploration of detail: how a single button, grommet, or eyelet could elevate a piece from ordinary to exceptional. Their question became the foundation of the KORTONS legacy:
“How can we create garment embellishments unlike anything the world has seen?”
